Old Friend is about naturally drifting apart from your close friends, and coming to terms with that. I based much of this piece on Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium", one of my favorite pieces.

Part of my vision for this piece was recording it live while 'busking' on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall, an extremely relevant part of Charlottesville's culture and history. We ended up recording in an alley off of the mall. While there is some ambience that comes through, I'm not sure I truly captured what I was going for.
